New Diplomat Welcome

The New Diplomat Welcome (NDW) is our premier event when we welcome new diplomats and their spouses to the Washington, DC area and to THIS for Diplomats.

The morning event includes three components:

• Coffee and Conversation: We begin by welcoming you, offering coffee and tea, and providing the opportunity to connect with other diplomats and internationally minded Americans and other diplomats. During this time, we distribute name tags to pre-registered attendees and register walk-ins (who we are just as happy to meet).

• Meeting: Our president and New Diplomat Welcome Chair will formally welcome all attendees and talk about THIS for Diplomats. Other speakers include Natalie Jones, Executive Vice President of Meridian International, THIS’s director of Diplomatic Relations, and an Egyptian diplomat.

• Adjournment to Refreshments and our Activity Fair: Enjoy a brunch of light fare, then visit the activity room to learn about opportunities for cultural exchanges and programs. Sign-up lists will be available for those who wish to participate.
